Recording has resumed on the 3rd CD of "Minstrel in the Wind," the anthology of original songs. "Spring Fever" looks back at the country rock/ southern rock portions of Brian's songwriting career, when he played with a band of the same name.  The inspiration for the name Spring Fever came from two different songs, one from Poco 7 (You've Got Your Reasons) and one from Dan Fogelberg's Home Free album (More Than Ever). Six Cents drummer, J.J. Dugan and percussionist Joe Clark laid the drum and percussion tracks and Byron Heck, who was a member of Spring Fever, played a few bass tracks with Brian adding the others. Brian's sister and Irishtown Road member, Eileen Bowling, will be singing a duet with Brian and along with Brian's son Jesse, will be contributing vocal harmonies to the project. The CD will also feature a co-written duet with another Spring Fever member, Jeff Griffin. Jeff plays electric and acoustic guitar and sings. Byron's on bass and harmony vocal and Vance Sheffer has added some railroad car harmonica to the tune. The production has been on the back burner for awhile, due to the Six Cents CD. Brian has returned to recording guitar, piano, mandolin, fiddle, pedal steel and vocal tracks. Irishtown Road's Denny Seitz has added his fine banjo playing to 3 songs on the "Spring Fever" project. Six Cents' Head's Up CD is available at Menchey Music in Hanover, Noteworthy Music in Gettysburg and at any 6¢ show. It can also be downloaded through Napster and i! tunes.
